Film opening!!!

Were finally done!

    I would like to say that we are currently one hundred percent complete with our film opening. It was a very long and tedious process. The idea of going to a womens prison was very scary at first but now that it is done and the editing is done I am happy to say I think our film opening is very good and very scary. I think my group and I have learned a lot during this process. The Imovie editing and the camera work has taught me how to film much better then I use to before. I now know how to edit a short piece and it will help me in the future. The women's prison was an experience. Although i am not personally in the shots the experience of going there was thrilling.
   
   Now I will begin my director analysis of our film opening. This will include the questions that Ms Stoklosa had provided us with and my step by step process on how we came upon ideas and scenes. This part will be much easier then the film itself but we still need to take it very seriously and try our hardest to receive the highest grade possible. The director analysis will actually be very amusing to me and provide me with much amusement because it will flashback great moments of filming this opening. We have showed our opening to some of friends and I showed me father and mother. Everyone gave us positive feedback and said for a first time it was very good. I really believe that we got the job done and for the two minutes we had the point was across. This project was a great experience and I hope everyone enjoys it.

Added a new scene

  Hey everyone, we decided to add in a new scene that is not one hundred percent going to be in our movie but it has a lot of potential. The scene begins with a closeup of the school bell and it rings. This is to show that we are just ordinary high school kids living normal lives. High school kids tend to get in trouble and do stupid things so were trying to show that we are normal just like everyone else. Then its just a casual conversation as we walk down the hallway and discuss going to the prison we had heard so much about. The prison is a huge thing that has gone around our school and everyone knows that it is not a fun place to go.  

   We are also 90 percent done with the editing process. All we have to do know is possibly add in the scene of the hallway to the beginning of our opening. I have also come across a amazing movie editing app that allows you to add magical things to all your work. The app is called Magisto and this app has done wonders for us. It allowed us to add some of those crazy and weird things that we could not add through imovie and such. Some of the things we added were lighting and some blur in the back round of our shots. This app was named one of the best apps of 2013 as well and has been used by over a million iphone users. The cool thing about magisto is that it takes photos and makes it a movie. So we combined some scenes with photos and then it combined the two to work correctly. The photos that are used can be put in the back round of your movies and such.

More ideas and editing continues.

  Hi guys were still editing and coming up with new ideas and such as our film continues to come to a close. We thought of a cool idea that we want to add in which might include a stopwatch like timer. As we enter the prison we will be switching to a go pro to film the project and we want to edit a timer into the shot so it gives a scarier feel to the scene. I think a very good detail that could make it very creepy is having a shot clock timer that shows seconds and mili seconds also. So theres always a fast time going by ur eye. I also saw some scary movies for the first time this week that gave me more ideas. I saw the grudge 2 and I saw Prometheus and they both surprised me greatly. I showed Robbie these movies as well because he is helping us with our project and can give us some ideas also.
  I also am trying to think about how to edit in dark skies because it wasn't that dark when we visited the prison. I am looking into programs like IMOVIE but they aren't showing much help. It is very hard to work on this project because our programs are lacking and we are using our iPhone. We are trying thought, and hopefully our project is scary and makes people cry. Editing process

  Hello everyone, not much to say this week because its spring break and everyone is gone. Me and Robbie worked on the editing a couple times this week and also added in a few different lighting effects. We are writing a script now and we chose to do it this way for a reason. We discussed having a more natural and made up type of scene to give the reality of the scene. Now we are writing a script to get it written down. I will post pictures once that part of the movie is done. Zach and Garber also started discussing ideas of scary things to add in the film. We might add in like a shadow of a girl or something to indicate that something is there and getting ready to attack us. Below im gonna post a few photos of scary girls that gave us some ideas. Theres nothing scarier then a little girl coming after you so we really think this will do the job.

Storyboard!

   Although we already have had our story down for weeks now we created a storyboard to help understand the process better. Here is a picture of the storyboard below. This storyboard explains our story in a simple way with our camera shots as well from start to finish. We will be updating as we film and possibly changing a few things. This is our main story, and the only things that could change our simple things like added a conversation or a new camera shot in our film. We also started looking at fonts for the wording in the title at the end of the film. This film is gonna be great, and I hope your all ready to jump out of your pants.

Location and filming continues

   So guys we began to film our first scene last week and it went very well. We drove the truck through US-27 and pulled it by the spots near the forest so we can film the walking to the prison scene. We got out of the car and began to film some short scenes where we will edit and make them all connected. once we will film this scene we will film the opening which will be us in the car talking about going to the location. Were gonna have the camera focused on all four of us not just one person. The first filming day went well and all the materials and such worked out exactly like we needed them to. Thankfully the forest was dark and humid so it gave a very nice touch on the spooky feel for the movie. We will be heading to the prison this spring break to film the main scare portion of our opening scene. Hopefully everyone shows up for there part and we can get to editing the entire scene.
   My friend Robbie already told me that he has a variety of cool editing programs that he has used in TV production. This will really help us and make our movie much scarier and cooler then we ever thought. We have been aiming towards adding in special effect sounds and edits to make everything darker and spookier.  Updates will be coming next week as our filming process continues.

Filming begins.

 We have finally reached the weekend for our first filming coverage. We will be making our way to the Broward Correctional Institution. We have full permission to work on the closed grounds of the prison and we will begin shooting tomorrow. We will be going to the prison with some others who have volunteered to help us create this movie and people who would like to act in it as well. My friend Robbie will also be going to help us edit some of the shots after and etc because he has great experience filming. We will begin shooting in the car on the way there as we want to show how the kids convey in conversation and talk about doing exciting things like going to a "closed" prison. Then we will start filming in the forest as we walk up towards the prison to show a little more suspense as we build up the idea of our movie. After filming begins and ends in the prison as scares come out to play.
   Some of the materials we will be bringing our typical scary movie props. We might bring a flashlight, a portable phone, and we will all be wearing typical teenager clothes. After we finish filming we intend to go back maybe one more time for any shots we have to get again. Me and Robbie are gonna work on editing scary techniques such as blackouts, and noises that add suspense and scares to the viewers. Get ready to change yo pants!

New title!

  We have decided to create a new title and a new idea into our movie. Were incorparating a time into movie where the time itself will play a significant role in our movie. We called it midnight because during the movie we want to have a timer in the shot where at midnight the scary things begin. We want to get the audience ready and nervous knowing what time the movie will begin to get creepy and scary. The new title in my mind will give a great perspective towards our movie and get the entire audience excited to see what actually happens in our movie. The term Midnight has alot of significance towards scary movies and scary things that happen at night. The game midnight has had alot of affect on how were planning our movie.    We also did some research on preivous woman who were convicted and sentenced to the prison where we want to shoot ur movie. One women stood out to us the most, her name being Aileen Worunous. She is a very interesting women and has given us very good ideas to incoporate into ur film that have to do with our prison. We can have pictures of her and etc thorughtout the walls of the prison and evenr bring up her name to scare people. A picture of her is listed below. 

Our movie idea!

   OK everyone we came up with our movie idea and we think its a great one. The movie is going to start out with 3-4 kids in a car talking and having fun with each other. As normal teenagers do they are going to talk about going to a scary area where they can be away from everyone. This area is going to be the forest. Once walking through the forest we will encounter a woman's prison. Obviously, the prison fence will say off limits don't enter but they will enter anyways. Once entered the prison they will get locked in and not ready for what awaits them on the inside. We believe that we ca truly scare everyone in the world out there with our idea. Being a teenager I understand how scary it can be to be put somewhere you don't want to be and its not fun.
   We began to look into prisons in the area where we can shoot our film and being located in Broward County we decided to look into the Broward County Correctional Facility. This location is not one hundred percent guaranteed but it is a great filming area that could be very scary. I will attach some photos to the blog for you guys to see. Finding a location for this film is going to be very hard because we need to find a place that is so scary your cringe just thinking about it. We also started thinking about a title for the movie but have not came up with a good enough one yet. I will also put the link for more information on the Broward Facility which will be right here.

Welcome to the scariest movie adventure yet!

Hello everyone my name is Michael Raymond and I will be taking you all on a journey through my creation to the scariest horror movie yet. My group and I will be making videos and sharing all our research through our journey and creation process for our movie. I will begin by talking about my research throughout the first through days. Once we decided on ur movie genre we looked up websites on our genre and what to make that movie good. The genre we decided to go with is horror and the website we used to being our research was http://www.theguardian.com/film/2013/jul/26/conjuring-horror-movies-too-scary. This website does a great job of giving me detailed looks towards horror movie creation and scaring people. The website also uses a very good example of one of the greatest horror movies ever. Alfred Hitchcocks "Physco" is one of the classic horror film movies and shows how horror movies started scaring the socks off there viewers.
